Hello everyone, today on the Helmar Blog I am going to be making some simple little pockets. These pockets can be used in your scrapbooking, journalling and also to gift money or gift cards.
What you will need:
Papers of choice, book papers/music papers, scissors, laces, flowers, printed words, ink pad and applicator, Helmar Fabric Glue and Helmar Tacky Craft Glue.
I recently purchased a printable for little pockets (from Antique Paperie) so I am using them but little pockets are simple enough to make yourself, you can even open up a coin envelope (or similar) and use it as a template for your pockets. Adjust any envelope you choose to your desired size.
Once you have your template, draw around it onto the back of your fancy paper and then cut them all out.
Fold the bottom flap up and apply Helmar Tacky Craft Glue and then fold one side in.
Apply Helmar Tacky Craft Glue to the side already folded and also to the inside of the other and then fold this to complete the pocket.
It's sometimes a good idea to cut out a little half circle on the front of the pocket before gluing it together to make it easier to place things in and out of the finished pocket.
Now onto the decorating, of course you can decorate in your own style, I'm wanting a bit of a vintage look for mine so I lightly ink around the pockets and then I rip up some bits of old book papers and using my Helmar Tacky Craft Glue, I layer them onto the front of the pocket.
I then use Helmar Fabric Glue to adhere my non-paper embellishments.
To add a little interest, I've printed some words out and inked them (to look a little vintage) before cutting out.
I then add my bows, flowers and lace to finish them up.
I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial for these simple yet pretty pockets. You can make up a few at a time so that you always have some ready to use on your projects.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today.
Take care
