A Helmar and Bella Butterfly

Hello everyone!  I am sharing a project with you today that I made using the awesome Bella Blvd papers and various Helmar products.  But first let me share some of the techniques that went into this project.  

So I started with a wooden butterfly and some Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.  

 

I wanted to cover this butterfly with patterned paper.  There are many ways to do this and many of Helmar's adhesives that would work great.  But here is what I did.  I squeezed the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive out onto my butterfly.

Then I took a brush and wiped the whole thing so it had a pretty even layer of adhesive.  

The I turned my butterfly over on top of the paper I wanted to use.  Just remember to adhere it to the back of the paper.  ;)

I turned it over and took my brayer, which I ran over the paper to get any bubbles out.  

    

I then took my craft knife and cut around the butterfly.

After doing this you can sand the edges down, and yes, it will sand off extra adhesive too.  :)

Here's a very quick and easy technique:

Start with a circle, and add a bit of Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots around the edges.

   

Then take some ribbon or trim and wrap it around the edge.  

 

And here it is turned over.

Ok, and one last technique for you.   This time–a flower.  :)

Start with a circle and cut it to make a swirl like so:

Now, you could leave it like this and it would look cool…but I didn't.  I used a bit of adhesive to bring it all together like so:

Now, again, you could leave it like this and it would look cool, but I didn't.  ;)  I took scissors and cut around the edge like so:

   
Then I rolled those pieces over toward the back like so:

Man..sorry, that is a bad picture, but you can see it on my project.  On my project I added a Helmar Zapdot in the middle, but before adhering it I dipped it in some pearl ex powder to give it a little shine.  I also added glitter to it.  

Ok, so what did I make with all of this???

I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere everything to my project.
