That this week is Helmar 450 Quick Dry week 🙂 Melanie here again – this is one of my favourites glues of all time… why?? Because it does what it suppose to do – stick things down and they stay stuck down!!!!!!! It is also the best glue to use when using ribbon and lace as it doesn't come up with that "wet" spot on the lace or ribbon or fabric.
I thought I would show how great this glue is… so I assembled one of Twiddleybitz's new chipboard birdcages. This project was started in the wee hours of the morning at a retreat and for the inital gluing stages I used Helmar Acid Free Glue – a great all rounder. The birdcage was then sprayed white with Gesso and left to dry overnight. Sadly I ran out of time the next day at the retreat to finish it off so it got popped in my hand luggage for the 2 flights home and it arrived home still in one bit!
Next step is the fun part – the decorating and due to the curvy nature of the birdcage I pulled out my trusty bottle of Helmar 450…. This is just fabulous to use as I don't have to sit there long at all with my fingers holding down the chipboard fern leaves or flowers etc waiting for it to stick and dry … it sticks quickly and I know it will stay like that!!! Also with using the delicate lace flowers I didn't want big glue patches to be seen. The moss inside the cage is also been stuck down with the 450 Quick Dry as has the nest and eggs, beaded lace, crystals 🙂 basically everything you see!!

Prima – Gillian white flowers, Be Charmed Mystra, Pixie Vine Nature Garden (painted white with a dry brush)
Bird, nest, eggs, Moss, beaded ribbon, lace flowers – all various craft/flower supplies
