A Perfect Marriage

Good day Helmar fans and happy TGIF!!!  As you all probably know, there is no such thing as a perfect marriage.  Unless that is you're talking about a crafter and her glue, Helmar to be specific of course!  Oh Helmar, you are the perfect companion to my craftiness!  Helmar has an adhesive for every detail of your projects and on this card project I used a whopping five different adhesives, each with a different element to handle.  For sure there is a perfect glue for every job!

To start my card I used a template from Crafter's Workshop to sponge paint this beautiful butterfly design onto the front of my card using a shimmery white paint by Making Memories.  Once it was dry I went back with a silver pen to add some lines to bring out the image better since it was white on white.

Once I finished with this step I then used Helmar's Antique Acrylic Sealer.  This was my first time using the sealer and oh my goodness was I impressed!  The cardstock I had used was a glittery one so it had some rough texture to it.  Then when I added sponged paint there was even more texture that I was concerned could flake off.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE texture, but the sealer added a great smoothing effect to my card and allowed the shimmer from the glittered cardstock and shimmer paint to really shine!  Once it had dried I was left with a gorgeous shimmer that's perfect for a wedding card and it reminded me of a wedding gown when it was done!

On top of the shimmery base I added a vellum quote that I mounted onto some blue cardstock and used Helmar's V2 Vellum Ahdhesive spray to make it invisible.  Worked great!  I added it to the card using Helmar Zap Dots.  For the ribbon and brad (which I clipped the prongs off of), I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry.  Lastly I adhered my tiny butterflies with Helmar Scrap Dots which is perfect for adding dimension to delicate items.  To top off the butterflies I used Helmar Gemstone Glue to hold down the beads in the centers.

Here are the five Helmar adhesives that I used on just this one card (just kidding, I used six when you count the Scrap Dots!)…
