Altered Paint Brush

Did you know paintbrushes aren't just for painting? No, they can also be decorated or altered and turned into a piece of art. Large or small, new or old, these can be transformed using any theme.

This paint brush is part of a blog hop which you can find at my blog – Pagesintime.

In addition to the paint brush, I grabbed a variety of holiday pattern papers and tags, flowers, ribbon and my Helmar Premium Craft Glue.

As soon as I saw the white bristles I knew what I wanted to create. Can you guess what my idea was? I painted the brush red and added batting and pom pom ribbon to the metal band. The Premium Craft Glue sets quickly and dries clear.  I knew the batting and trim would stay secured.

Of course Santa needed a face. Black buttons were the perfect eyes and  his cherry nose is a red pom pom. I fashioned glasses from a piece of wire and also used the glue to secure that to the bristles.

I clustered the tags and flower and ribbon to make one larger tag.

And here is my finished paintbrush or Jolly Old Santa Clause as I like to call him. I think he will be the perfect addition to the wreath for my front door.

I hope you will consider hopping along and be inspired to create your own altered paintbrush!

Helmar is sponsoring one of the prizes along the hop. Winners will be chosen from all of the comments left on all of the blogs.

Thank you for joining me and I hope you enjoyed this project!
