Hi Helmar Fans!
I'm here to share with you an art journal page I did using some of the awesome papers by 7 Dots Studio! The quality of these papers are divine and they hold up incredibly well to all kinds of wet media I loaded up on top!! I was really drawn to their vintage papers from the Domestic Goddess collection – imagine my delight as I was checking out this collection to find they are made in POLAND (just a little giddy about that since I'm half Polish and really want to visit my father's homeland one day!!!) Anyhoo….on to my project!
I started my page by laying down these tags from Domestic Goddess collection — How awesome are they?! When I start a journal page and want to lay down some background papers, I always pull out my Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste.
Then I just covered my entire page with different acrylic paints, Faber-Castell Gelatos, sprays, stencils, stamps, ink — you name it!!!! It had been awhile since I've played with my paints or opened my art journal for that matter….I tend to get in my head a bit too much and find it hard to "LET GO" when I'm just playing. I need to do it more often so I don't do that! (I actually thought it was turning into a HOT MESS at this point…but you just need to keep going unitl you are happy with it — that is part of the process!!!)

I love how this turned out. This was actually an OOPS! I covered the image that I wanted to highlight as I was painting but I could still see the outline so I just added some gesso to cover the paint and then I used Faber-Castell big pit pens to color in the features and outlined them back in. Now it looks like it was MEANT to be like that. 😉
This came from the sticker sheet by 7 Dots Studio in the Domestic Goddess collection. I again used Helmar Decoupage and Craft paste to adhere it down even though it's self-adhesive because I didn't want it going anywhere and I also cover it with a light layer to seal it into the page.
