Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a marvelous week so far! Aymee, aka Southernbellescrapper, here on this beautiful Tuesday to share a project I created using some of our fabulous preferred vendors and a few of my favorite Helmar Adhesives. I chose to showcase Jillibean Soup, Maya Road, Elle's Studio, Helmar Zap Dots, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, and the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.
I don't know about you, but I am so glad that fall is finally here! I just love to watch the leaves turn glorious shades of color, feel the crisp breeze blow through my hair, and admire all of the decorations people put out for the season. I love this time of year because it really inspires me to create. I think fall projects are some of my most favorite to create. I just love the various papers and embellishments available to us as crafters. I am a big fan of Halloween and was inspired to create this treat bag while browsing through a craft book at my local library. The book had the cutest, basic brown paper lunch bag decorated up to look like a haunted house. The minute I saw it I thought, "I want to make those to give to my neighbors on Halloween.' So with the use of my favorite Helmar Adhesives, I sat down yesterday to create my first one. I wanted to give you the directions I used step-by-step in case you would like to give this a go. I hope you will because it is so fun!!!
1. Start with a brown paper lunch bag that can be purchased at any grocery store. I picked mine up at Wal Mart, so the dimensions I use will be for that brand of bag. I believe it was just the off-brand that they carry at Wal-Mart, called Great Value. The bags measure 5 inches wide by 10 inches tall. The top portion of your lunch bag will be folded over to create the 'roof' of the house. Fold the bag down at the 3 inch mark. Adhere the cardstock of your choice using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I chose some black polka dotted patterened paper from Jillibean Soup. I then embellished with some extra cardstock strips that I had punched with a Halloween border punch, some ball fringe (adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive), alphabet from Jillibean Soup, and a little ghost. I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop up my letters and my ghost.
Also, make sure when you are adhereing your paper to the top of the bag not to let the adhesive overlap onto the inside of the flap. If you do, your bag will not open when you are ready to put the Halloween treats inside.
2. Now we are ready to decorate the front of the house. Cut patterned paper to 7 inches by 5 inches. Adhere with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I then chose to decorate with the use of my Cricut die cutting machine. I cut the door, windows, and ghosts out using my machine. I adhered the paper pieces of the die cuts together using the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. I blinged these up with Stickles glitter glue, pearls, and rhinestones. I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop all of these up for some added dimension.
3. Next, flip the bag over and add patterned paper. I chose more Jillibean Soup patterned paper. I adhered these with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. I cut the title 'Happy Halloween' out using my Cricut die cutting machine. I then chose a Elle's Studio journaling card and stamped it with my personalized stamp. I popped this up using Helmar Zap Dots.
4. Open up your bag and fill it with the Halloween Treats of your choice. I chose to add candy corn to mine. Once filled, fold the top of the bag back down and punch 2 holes in the top. I used my Crop-A-Dile for this. I then threaded through some orange ribbon from Jillibean Soup and tied it in a knot. This will secure your bag closed. I also added 2 pins from Maya Road.

I love using Helmar 450 Quick Dry for ball fringe! It works wonders!!!
