I've always enjoyed chasing butterflies. Gently trying to catch them in a butterfly net. Watching their graceful flutter as they move from place to place. They are that one insect that I'm absolutely smitten with. Well them and ladybugs, what can I say, I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to most creepy crawlers.
So when this "Lovely" collection from Lily Bee Design fluttered its way into my craft space, I jumped…screamed…freaked out!!! I mean really, could I be smitten with a "Bee"? Is it even possible? Oh YES IT IS!!! This animal CAN change her spots indeed. I love Love LOVE LILY BEE and I am not afraid to shout it from the roof tops.
The patterns, the colors, the rub-ons *swoon*. This stuff can truly make the most bug phobic crafter love the Lily Bee. With a name like that, what's not to love right? Full of whimsy, cheeriness, and beauty. Lily Bee is like NO other bee I've ever seen!!!
I decided that with all this bug loving, I'd embrace it and let the insects inspire me and this is what I came up with. I Captured Joy!!!
How did I get that sheer sparkle on the wings?
I used the V2 Vellum Adhesive. This stuff is amazing to work with and is the perfect choice to get the layers on this Tim Holtz die sticking together. If you haven't picked up a can of this stuff, you have to take the plunge. It is like Adhesive GOLD in a can. The butterfly itself gets dimension from Helmar Zapdots and Liquid Scrap Dots
Lily Bee Design is definitely the Bee's Knees and thanks to them, I will no longer run faster than a superhero, in the opposite direction, when I hear the word Bee.
