It's Krisy back today to share another project. This is something that I have done every year since my daughter was born. I create themed card books to store all the birthday cards. I loved looking back over cards when I was a kid and analyzing the handwriting (something that is dying out with technology) and maybe one day my children will too. So, to keep them all organised, together and in the right order, I make simple card books.
You don't need much to make these.
Some sturdy cardboard or chipboard cut to the size of the largest card
Some Helmar Glue – Take your pick but Acid Free is my Favourite
Large Jump rings. I like Kaisercraft ones.
Paper or Fabric to cover
Embellishments.
As I said, I theme the covers to the theme of the party. This year was Frozen and Superheros. I will show you the Frozen one and at the end of this post I will show you some other ones I have made.
To start, cut your cardboard to the same size of the largest card. You will need 2; a front and a back.
Once you have them cut, cover them with your chosen fabric or paper. It great when you can save some paper from a larger present and use that. Then your have preserved some of the day too.
When you cover the covers, lay your cardboard on your paper, and cut it about 2 inches wider. Then at the corners cut the corners away on a 45 degree angle. This will give you something to fold over and seal the edges. Then just glue a rectangle of contrasting paper on the inside of the covers. It looks great and hides all the edges.
I used this sparkly silver paper as my lining.
Then all you need to do is embellish your cover and then thread everything onto your jump rings. I switched to fabric glue because I was gluing fabric but you can use what ever you have. I'm just lucky enough to have a selection to try out. One thing I did note… was that the fabric glue didn't show up as much as the acid free when I used it under the silky fabric on the cover. 
Once your c0ver is done, mark out two places for the rings to go that binds it all together and then punch some holes. If you have them, eyelets are good to reinforce the holes. Use the first one as a template for the back cover and to mark the place to punch holes on your cards.
