Chalkboard Inspirations with Tamiko

I have been looking at this wooden plaque from Walnut Hallow for over nine months trying to imagine how I could incorporate into my craft area or  for my home. Then it came to me, that I needed a message board and this was the perfect size. Check it out!

I first applied some Americana's Chalkboard Paint with horizontal strokes. I let it dry, then went over the painted areas with vertical strokes. I let the paint dry over night..not to dry but to allow for it to cure, as per the instructions of the company.  After the board was conditioned with chalk I began to add some of my clothes pins. First I made sure the cork covering was adhered securely to the pins by adding some Premium Craft Glue clear adhesive.  I then added a metal thumbtack to the backside of the pins with my 450 Quick Dry.

After the pins were dry I added more 450 Quick Dry to the surface between the head of the tack and chalkboard surface.  I allowed that to dry over an hour.  Now my board is ready to be hung so I can clip inspirational quotes, notes for myself and much more. ::smiles:::
