Happy Thursday Everyone! Aymee Gandy here on this fine day. I hope you are having a fabulous day so far! Are you bundled up? I'm not sure about you, but I have been one chilly snow bunny this week! It is so cold here in Pennsylvania and windy. I've had to pull out all the extra blankets and heaters. So if it's warm where you are, send some of that toasty weather my way! LOL! In the meantime, I have created a new layout featuring some of those spectacular Helmar Adhesives that I would like to share with you. For this page, I used the following Helmar Adhesives: Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Helmar Gemstone Glue, Helmar Zap Dots, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, and the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.
This layout features me and my family on our recent trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. We spent the Thanksgiving holiday bundled up in a cabin in the mountains and it was absolutely divine! But one night we ventured out to see the Christmas show at the Dixie Stampede. I just love going to the Dixie Stampede! The food is so good and the show is always entertaining. If you have never been and are near one, I highly recommend it! This layout features patterned paper/glitter paper from Best Creation Inc., embossed cardstock from Core'dinations Cardstock, and dew drops from The Robin's Nest. I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the majority of the page. I pulled in a bit of stitching with my sewing machine and used a few punches as well. Here is my page:
I also did a bit of 'faux paper pleating' underneath my photo. This is a really easy technique to do. I began with 2×2" sqaures of patterned paper. I folded in each side of the patterned paper and then snipped the bottom with some pinking shears. I did not follow any pattern when doing this. I tried to make each of the 'pleats' different sizes. Once I had all of my 'pleats' done, I layered them for the dimensional look. I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop up every other 'pleat.' After I had my pleating done, I added a strip of ribbon and a bow. I adhered these with Helmar Premium Craft Glue and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.
Here is a view so you can see the dimension these 'faux pleats' give. I attached all of these to my layout with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. I also popped up my photo with Helmar Zap Dots. The silver dots that you see are dew drops and I adhered those with Helmar Gemstone Glue.
Isn't the embossed cardstock from Core'dinations awesome?! I love that stuff! The alphas are from American Crafts.
