Merry Merry good people! I can't believe we only have 10 days until Christmas!! I have not even finished putting ornaments on the tree and in the mail! These ornaments are totally different for me. I used wire and cutters; papers and beads; and of course the ONLY glue I trust to do my crafts.. Helmar adhesives! I think these look a little shabby chic, but you be the judge! ::smiles::
What I did first was take some 18 gauge wire I had and shaped it into a drop-like figure and wrapped the end around the stem. I then traced the shape of the ornament loosely to a sheet of decorative scrapbook paper I had been hoarding. I distressed the edges and then glued the paper to the wire with some of my Helmar 450 Quick Dry. It's durable for the metal and gentle enough, for the paper! Oh yeah, it dries clear, so how cool is that!
I fussy cut some vintage Christmas ephemera from Ephemera's Vintage Garden and popped it up with some Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. I then took the Helmar Gemstone glue and added some seedbeads for color and shimmer! Added a little Merry Christmas flag to my images and finally some trim, I adhered with some more Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive. Here are a few more shots. 🙂
Indeed different for me.. but fun to create. Hope you know too, that you can create new and uniquely different things from things you already have and the only thing that doesn't have to change is your use of Helmar Adhesives! ::smile:: From my family to yours..
