Hello everyone, today I am going to decorate a paper mache heart shaped box I'd picked up at the op-shop well over a year ago. I had already removed some old decorations from it so it was ready to be used.
What I used:
Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive and Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue, a paper mache (or similar) box, old book pages, a variety of pearls/beads, laces, flowers and glitter glue.
Firstly, I had to remove any old glue from the box.
I then made a decoupage type mixture up by mixing 1 part water to 2 parts Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue. I painted this onto the box and then covered it by ripping pieces of bookpaper up.
Once the box and the lid were all covered I used my Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive on the lid to attach a vintage lace.
I then used the PVA mixture to cover the inside of the heart.
Using my Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, I added some lovely rhinestone chain around the outer edge of the inner heart and some vintage lace around the outside of the lid.
Now it was time to add the pearl mix to the inside of the heart. For this I worked in small sections using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, I applied it liberally, added my pearls and then moved on to the next section.
When the heart was all filled in with the pearl mix, I used my stickles glitter glue in 'glisten' to fill in any empty spots.
Around the top of the box I added a little strip of gold lace trim to finish it off and I also added a few pretty flowers for decoration once again using my Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive.
I also decided to add a strip of lace and the same gold trim to the base of the box.
And it's done!
I think it turned out quite lovely myself! I did not do the inside of the box as the paper mache was in good shape and was nice and clean.
