I have seen things done with doileys around the net, and I thought I would like to have a try. Helmar sells a product called Helmar Fabric stiffener and draping liquid, which was perfect for this project!
This is what you will need…..
gloves, metal/glass bowl, doiley, jug….or another bowl to pour the Helmar stiffener and draping Liquid into and a craft sheet.
Pour the stiffening Liquid into a glass bowl.
Soak the doiley into the liquid.
wring it out a little to get the excess liquid off.
Then drape it over the bowl. You can lay some plastic cling wrap over the bowl if you like to prevent glue getting on your bowl. Make it as even as you can.
Leave it to dry.
I sprayed it a little with Shimmerz Paint and then dry brushed it with white.
I got out a selection of Flowers and stuck them all on with Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
Mine will probably sit on my kitchen bench for keys and little odds and ends, but it would be perfect for scrapbooking products, or soaps in the bathroom.
If you are not into doileys around your house, but have some old ones in the cupboard, they would be perfect made into a bowl like this one!!!
