Well, today I have a little card making tutorial using a little bit of KikiArt a little bit of myStampBOX , with a little bit of help from Purple Cows Freestyle Mouse Cutting Kit, PK Glitz, Inc, Glimmermist and whole love of help from Helmar Zapdots, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and of course Helmar Quickfix Adhesive Runner.
So what does the card look like??? It's actually a folded paper frame card I made a few weeks ago and thought it would be fun to show you how to make it. I found the instructions for this on Splitcoaststampers, and if my tutorial is not clear enough, please refer back to that.
And before I start the tutorial…here is the finished card, so you know what it will look like at the end at least..hehehe.
So, let's start….First you will have to create a 5.5" x 5.5" size card base. Than cut a create the layered card front using KikiArt papers and I even used my Purple Cows Freestyle Mouse Cutting Kit to cut the edges of the pink paper to add interest. I adhere the orange and pink papers using Helmar Quickfix Adhesive Runner, then I stitched the edges with sewing machine. Then you cut a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" size paper from the blue KikiArt paper and that is the one you will use to make your paper frame.
Turn your little square in 90 degree angle and measure out from the corners 1" and 1.5" and score the lines..it will look like this.
Fold the corners in toward the center of the square on the inner score line, and out on the second score line.
Since the back side of my paper was going to show I decided to mist it with Glimmermist to match the colors.
Next I took a 3×3 cardstock and stamped myStampBOX tree image and colored it with Copic markers.
Here came the fun part. And for that I needed Helmar Zapdots.
I added Helmar Zapdots to the inner side of the frame to create the 3D look.
Then to the outer side of the frame as well, to complete the frame look.
The final step to beatify this card even further was to create glittery dots and for that I used the Helmar Clear Round Zapdots and PK Glitz glitter.
The tip I can give you on applying the glitter to the Zapdots is that I placed them on clear acetate but I think wax paper might work, too, so this way once you applied the glitter, you can lift them off easy for placement.
And again, here is my final card after adding a ribbon and a tag of sentiment.
Hope you like this little card and make one….if you do, we would love to see it, so please link it up to here, or on our Facebook page.
