In our crazy world it is time to enjoy the little things.
Today's creation is about bringing the outside inside.
I have used an old glass cookie jar to create this colourful vase for my plant.
To create this project or something similar gather these supplies:
a glass cookie jar (remove the lid and wire clamp)
glass stones (any colour)
alcohol inks (in colours of your choice)
alcohol blending solution (in a spray bottle)
masking tape
Helmar Super Tac Glue
Helmar Remove Cleaner
Okay let's start…
First, we need to use the cleaner to remove any grease or grime off the glass.
Spray this cleaner onto a paper towel and wipe the cookie jar over.
Allow to dry, it does not take long.
Next step is to start gluing the glass stones onto the cookie jar, I started on the flat sides first and worked from the middle out to the edges.
Allow to dry for a good four hours before moving on to the next side.
When you get to the curved sides of the jar I have used masking tape to support the glass stones so they don't slide off.
Once the stones are all secured and dry it is time to colour your vase.
I have used 3 Alcohol ink colours and some silver and pearl.
Start by spraying the glass stones with the blending solution ( be careful with the fumes )
then drop on your Alcohol ink colours and watch the magic happen!
Allow the layer to dry and keep adding highlights until you get the achieved look you like.
Once happy with your colours allow it to dry overnight
then add some soil and a plant of your choice.
