I stumbled across this quote on Pinterest the other day.
"Some girls are just born with glitter in their veins." And I realised – they are talking about me!!! I have loved sparkly things since I was a child. They don't have to be pink, just pretty and sparkly. If they happen to be diamonds, well, that's a whole other story…(-: That's when the glitter in my veins REALLY kicks in, lol!
So, when I found these red heart magnets recently (for my scrap pinboard), I thought to myself – wow, these are so pretty. But they aren't sparkly…yet!!!
Then on Monday night, I watched Tracy's U-Stream Video. Using Helmar Gemstone Glue and glitter, Tracy showed us how to make quick and easy Halloween tags (and if you haven't watched this video yet, I highly recommend it!!!). And that's when it hit me – this was the solution to the lack of sparkles on my magnetic hearts.
Take a look at my magnets now that I have added a little Helmar Gemstone Glue, some glitter, and some rhinestones! I simply coated three of the magnets with a layer of glue, then sprinkled glitter over two of them (one red, one white), and flocking on the third (I just wanted to see if it would work, lol!). With the other 3 magnets, I simply outlined them with the Helmar Gemstone Glue, and added loose rhinestones (clear, black and blue). This project took me less than 30 minutes, and now I have unique, sparkly (and adorable) magnets on my pinboard.
