I wanted to create this layout for my twin sister, Becca. You see it is our birthday this month and she inspires me so much! She is the one who has always encouraged me in all I do. In fact, she is the one who got me into scrapbooking! Happy birthday, dear sister!I love textured paper. It's one of those things that I can't pass up when visiting my local scrapbook store. I love embossed, glittered, or resist paper and I can't get enough of it! The struggle with these textures is that I can never get anything to stay permanently on it! Helmar to the rescue! I am going to show you the adhesives I used to create the layout below.
This paper is beautifully textured with raised glitter and is by Deja Views Paper. To start the layout, punch out eight squares using a 1 inch square punch. Use your Helmars Dry Adhesive to adhere it to the page. Make sure you place it down where you want it because this baby sticks!
Place your four wallet photos over the squares as shown below. I get my wallet photos with a white edge printed around them. This makes an easy and fuss free mat. Make sure to leave the edges free from adhesive since we will be tucking embellishments in later.
Use the Dry Adhesive again to place the photos on the page.
As shown below, add a strip of paper and sticker from Amy Tangerine's line for American Crafts. Use Helmar's 450 Quick Dry on the back of each so that it will stick to the glitter. It will still be wet enough to tuck under the diecut we will be adding soon.
Next use Zap Dots to make this small Amy Tangerine sticker pop off the page. It has no problem sticking to glitter paper!
Cut this tag sticker, again from Amy Tangerine's line, and use the 450 Quick Dry again to place it on the right of the photos. Then put the pop up sticker in place.
I have a roll of Silhouette black vinyl and instead of using it in the machine, I used my hand diecut machine and a Spellbinder's die to cut it out. I then cut the piece in half and used 450 Quick Dry to stick it to the glitter.
You will not need to push on it to get the adhesive to stick. Try to put it on the page gently since you don't want the embossed glitter to empress the vinyl. Tuck it under the sticker and paper strip. (If you wish, you can add this element first before the sticker and paper.)
Put the other half at the top the same way and add a dimensional Amy Tangerine sticker to the top.
Adding alphas can be tricky using textured paper as a background. Not with Helmar! I used both Momenta black letters and Making Memories white letters. Use 450 Quick Dry again. As you apply a small amount, spread it around the small letter sticker with a toothpick.
I also couldn't help but add some SMASH tape by K&Company to the left corner of the photo. But, even with the tape I had a hard time with it sticking to the glitter. Use a small amount of Dry Adhesive directly on the paper and then place the tape over top.
Tie some American Craft's twine to a Doodlebug button and use 450 Quick Dry on the back. Place them right over your photos.
