Happy Halloween!! Although I'm a day early I know a lot of other people who celebrate this early with all of their decorations, even the craft stores around like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, even Walmart start displaying Halloween very early on!
This card that I made was fun to do. You don't need very many supplies for this project. Here is my quick step by step tutorial.
Here are some supplies used for this card:
Kraft Card Stock Helmar Premium Craft Glue
Ivory Card Stock Cheese Cloth
Black Card Stock Paper Trimmer
Stampendous Raven wooden stamp Scoreboard & Bone folder
Stampendous Hinge wooden stamp
Ranger Archival Ink (Black)
Prima Sequins
Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Paper
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink (Vintage Photo)
I began by cutting a sheet of Kraft card stock 9" X 5.5, I then scored it at the center 4.5. I then cut a piece of black card stock @ 3 3/4 X 5 1/4, I adhered that piece to the top of the card with Helmar Premium Craft Glue
Once this was adhered I set it aside and I cut out a sheet of the Kraft Glassine by Tim Holtz. If you have never used this paper, it adds great background to any project, I have used it in many vintage themed projects. I stamped this image using this wooden stamp by Stampendous that I purchased from a crafty friend who had a destash not too long ago. I used Ranger Archival Ink (Black) to stamp the image to the glassine. Once stamped I used my heat tool to set the stamped image so it won't smear. Once it cooled off I tore the glassine around the edges and then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) around the torn edges.
I had a piece of coffee dyed cheese cloth in my stash that I cut off a small piece off of and I adhered it on top of the black card stock I had previously adhered using Helmar Premium Craft Glue and the adhered the stamped glassine paper on top of the cheese cloth. I wanted to use this Hinge stamp I got from that same destash, it is a wooden stamp also from Stampendous.
I then cut a small strip from the left over glassine paper, stamped some of the lettering from the Raven stamp onto the glassine paper, tore around the edges , inked it then rolled it to look like a scroll then tied it using some string. I then got some ivory ruffled lace from my stash and adhered it to the front bottom, adhered the small scroll on the center. I then adhered some Prima sequins around the front of the card and also cut and adhered a piece of Ivory card stock the same size as the black one and placed it on the inside of my card.
I hope that this was an easy tutorial to follow. I wish everyone who celebrates Halloween a very safe and fun night! Stay tuned for my next project in November which is gonna be something I have been wanting to make for a while now. Super excited for that one. Thank you for checking out my blog post today and please check out all of the great products that Helmar carries. Check them out @ Helmar Products. Take care everyone!!!
