I was recently asked by a friend to create a guest book for her sister's 50th wedding anniversary party. Wow, what a huge occasion. I knew I'd have to pull out something special for this one, and also, I knew it would have to hold up to handling throughout the party while people left messages for the still happy after 50 years couple. Lucky for me, I just got a restock of Helmar, so it really wasn't a problem.
The papers I used were quite thick, so I first used Helmar acid free glue to adhere the paper to the book, then I used Helmar tape runner to anchor the edges of the paper to the inside cover, while Iworked on the outside. I used Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive to adhere my bits and peices to the front, Helmar tape runner for the ribbon, and Helmar scrapdots to add dimension to the birds and flowers, as well as to lift he frame off the page slightly. being so delicate and narrow, foam dots could not have done the job like Scrapdots can. Once I was done with the front and had all the bits and pieces tucked in, I adhered a sheet of plain cardstock to the inside back and front cover to hold everything secure. I used Helmar acid free glue for this because it is so strong.
While I was at it, I made a matching card using the same products and techniques. In addition, I used Helmar tape runner, to help me hold the pleats in place.
Both are now on their way to new Zealand for the party, and of course, I feel very confident that because of Helmar, it will all make it in and out of the suitcase, no problem.
