G'day from all the way in WA (Western Australia!) Hi everyone 🙂 What a great sketch to start off my stint with Helmar – I am so excited!!! Don't you just love sketches??? I especially like how you can interpret it to suit your own style and flair…. For those of you who know me (Melanie Forbes) know that my style is quite often very busy and layered with larger photo's and lots of detail….
So with this sketch instead of using 2 photographs I used a photo with 2 central figures in it…. Using the photo as a guide for the colours and papers to use, I went with a white, blue and rusty colour theme.

Stamps – Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley
Fabric Ribbon from Etsy and May Arts Twine
I also love playing with chipboard and can't actually remember the last time I did a LO or project that didn't involve sticking down some chippy!! This is where I love Helmar's 450 quick dry and Helmar's Liquid Scrap dots (this I think should be sold by the bucketload!!!!! sshh).
The 450 dries so quickly and sticks anything down so I know that the chipboard will stay on my LO despite being carried half way around Australia back from a retreat last weekend. It is also fantastic for glueing down ribbon and fabric as it doesn't leave that "wet" mark others do…. Can you see where the glue is on the stamped fabric???
The Liquid Scrap dots are great for squishing things into place…. and to also give dimension to your LO as you can see here with the butterfly – it has simply raised it off the page giving my page more layers and dimension!
