Hey hey good people, Tamiko here!! Today's project was created as a result of swap hosted by my friend Lori, collecting scraps/fibers/ribbons from dozens of people all across the USA. The intention was to acquire the items and create some type of tassel and pray for the individuals/friends included minimum. I love the eclectic bunch I received and I am looking forward to feeling connected with those I pray for. I love what I made and I am looking forward to creating more!! Let's check it out!
Items needed to make tassel:
- Helmar Fabric Glue
- Canvas fabric
- Assorted scraps/ribbons/fibers
- Metal ring
- Acrylic paint and brush (to color canvas fabric)
I chose colors that coordinate with the stash received to paint my canvas fabric. I took a strip and connected it at the ends with Helmar Fabric Glue.
I cut a neck narrowing the fabric for a nicer fold. A much thinner piece of fabric and fabric glue on its backing was wrapped it around the neck of the bow and secured.
The scraps/ribbons/fibers were detangled folded in half. The metal ring was opened and threaded through loop of scraps/ribbons/fibers and closed. I gathered the dangley strips and tightly wrapped a piece of painted canvas to secure them. I added a generous amount of fabric glue (smiles).
I could have left it like that, but remember the bow? With more fabric glue I stuck the bow in the center of the band. I also added some of the prayer I speak when I begin to pray to dangley canvas bits.
Always a wonderful thing when I know that glues I get from Helmar Worldwide totally hold my projects well! Check out the site and pick up some Helmar!!
