Hi everyone, Beck Beattie here and I have the honour of kicking off a week of Helmar 450 Quick Dry features.

Each of the designers will be showing you our own way of having some fun with this awesome product.
For this I decided to focus on the strength of Helmar 450 Quick Dry with an off the page project as it's versitility with a fun kids project. You can check out a great deal more info anytime on the link imbedden in the picture or the name of this glue throughout this post. There is also videos you can watch there.
For today's project I wanted to create a beautiful clock to sit in our Attic Family room which contains my scrapping space at the other end. It was a great way to tie the two rooms in together with my work featured at both ends of the room in the form of a clock.
I started out by purchasing a plain white clock from the 'cheap' shop and got to work. I taped some brown paper around the glass to protect it prior to applying a coat of white gesso. I then begun to stamp with a script stamp (any script stamp will do) and dark brown StaysOn around the clock.
The next step was to ink it with some Tim Holtz distress inks to add some aged colour to it. I just loved what the colour did to take it back years instantly.
I then added a coat each of Helmar Step 1 and 2 crackle to this. The colour from the distress ink ran, but this was ok, it helped get it into the indented areas.
Once it was crackled I added some ink into the cracks and then gave it a quick coat of Helmar Acrylic Sealer.
It was at this stage that the Helmar 450 Quick Dry started to shine. I added flowers, vines and embellishments to the clock at opposite ends using the Helmar 450 Quick Dry and this was the result. Some people say to me that the glue is stringy, but this happens when it is drying out so you need to work quickly. Also, if you simply scrape it against the item you are adhereing, there is less chance of this happening.
Here is a close up of the flowers, vines and embellishments that were held so quick and strong with the Helmar 450 Quick Dry.
Here is a close up of the crackle achieved on the clock.
I also had some fun creating a fun little activity for my boys.
I am lucky enough that my husband brings large sheets of paper home after they are finished with in the office. (They are Engineering drawings) and the boys get to have fun with the reverse side that isn't used. It is a great way to recycle and on this day I wanted to make their painting activity a little more fun.
I started out by drawing a picture on the paper using my Helmar 450 Quick Dry.

Once it was completly dry (which doesn't take long considering it is 'Quick Dry') I pinned it up and gave them a foam brush that I had already added some paint to. As they painted the picture was revealed.

For my eldest (who is nearly 3) it was great as he had to paint to see and guess what it was. For the youngest (who is in the picture) it was just great fun to paint (he is only 16 months).
*** With the pictures, if you don't feel you can draw, you don’t have to do it free hand…. You can draw or print them onto paper and then overlay them with a blank piece to trace but with glue and presto you have an awesome pic! It is great too as that way they get one to colour in and one to paint – double fun!
I hope you have enjoyed my share and are hopefully a little more inspired to get your Helmar 450 Quick Dry out and try something new.
Keep looking all week for some more Helmar 450 Quick Dry inspiration and techniques!
Happy Creating!
