I know. It's such a bad pun, but I just couldn't help myself. (-: And besides, this post is all about sticking flowers together, so I thought it was an appropriate title, lol! As promised, and thank-you for your patience in waiting, here is the final part of my flower tutorial. This week, I will show you how to make lovely heart petal flowers.
I thought I'd share a layout with you first. Titled: Never Be Scared To Jump. I've been wanting to play with the Bo-Bunny "Ad Lib" range for quite a while, but just never had a chance. This was the perfect excuse to fix that, because I knew those papers would make wonderful flowers. Yes, this whole layout was created using various Helmar glues. I used the Helmar Permanent Adhesive Runner to adhere all my papers, and the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to raise the letters of the word "jump" off the photo. And the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive was the perfect glue for my flowers, and for adhering all those circles to the layout.
So with my trusty 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, I have created these easy-peasy flowers to share with you. They are seriously easy – and only involve about 5 steps. Yes, really, lol! They are not as complicated as they look. And I can't take credit for these, they were not my invention. I have learnt these from other scrapbookers. But I am happy to share this knowledge with you.
Firstly, you will need some double sided paper (the thicker paper holds better), a circle punch (about 1" – 1.5"), and a small heart shaped punch. If you want bigger flowers, just use bigger punches. Begin by punching out one cirle shape, and about 10-14 of the heart shapes (the exact amount needed will vary depending on your punch sizes).
Take all your punched heart shapes and fold them in half. Add glue to the punched circle shape. (Hint, hint, hint: this is where you use the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive).
Now take all your folded petals, and glue them to the circle.
Make sure all the petals are facing the same direction so that the flower flows around in a nice circular motion.
Finish by adding your chosen embellishment to the centre of the flower. And you are done! You now have a lovely flower to add to your layout, card or project. Yes, it's really that easy. (-:
