Hello all!! Wow, another scorching hot day here!! Hope summer is treating you well!! The sun is shining, the breeze is blowing… it's a beautiful day!!
I have a layout to share with you using Lily Bee's gorgeous HELLO SUNSHINE line! I absolutely adore its bright and cheerful colors!! It was just perfect for this LO featuring my son and his first bike!
I started this page using the graph paper as my back-round. Then I decided to mat it in the red and white polka dot paper. Still was not satisfied, so I matted those onto the yellow paper and that achieved the look I wanted!! Then I did a bit of tearing for the strip across the center of the page. Love the look of layered torn paper! It adds so much dimension! I adhered all of the paper down using the Helmar Premium Craft Glue! I knew from the start that I wanted to use the diecut circle… That's one fun thing about Lilly Bee… their diecut sheets! Adorable! It was then that I knew I wanted to add a film strip look to my page. I just love using these 2×1 photo's and this is one way to make them work fabulously on a page!! I stuck the photo's down using the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.
To achieve this look there are 2 ways that I'm going to show you. First of all… You can use a border punch. I used one from EK Success for mine.
If you do not have a punch like this, you can also get a similar look by using a hole punch and scissors! Just punch holes at even intervals along the length of your page and trim them with scissors as shown in the photo below! Easy Peasy!!
So here are the 2 different looks! Both are so much fun, so simple and perfect to add a film strip to your page! I adhered my film strip using my Helmar Premium Craft Glue!
After i had my film strip added, I went ahead and added a Lily Bee rub on to the circle! I LOVE these! They go on like butter… smooth!!
I decided to continue with the circular theme and used my circle punches to add several different sized circles to my page! I added 1/2 inch circular white Zapdots from Helmar to the red circles to give them some lift…
To add my title to the page, I used the chipboard alpha from Buzz and Bloom! These are adorable! i love the font!! I left them naked but added a diamond shaped red jewel from The Robins Nest to the center of the D's and a clear circular one to the center of the E. I love the way these look on the chipboard!I used the Helmar Gemstone Glue to add these to the chipboard as well as along the side of my film strip.
I added a few buttons here and there using my 450 QuickDry!! And last but not least… my signature journaling strips! 🙂 No page is complete without them! These were stuck down using my trusty Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner!!
