It has gone to it's new home in Port Lincoln.. though where it is going to be displayed is in much debate in it's new home!
Let me explain a little..
Last year my eldest daughter, Jhane, took an amazing photo of my niece in her graceful girl costume at her Whyalla competition. I had scrap booked the photo previously on a 12×12 layout and once my sister saw it she wanted the layout.
Well the layout went for a little trip to the country with my Barossa Crop group and only made it home about a month ago. I was happy with the layout but wanted to create something a little bit special for my sister, rather than the layout. That where the canvas I have had sitting around for ages came into play.
I went upstairs one afternoon just before preparing dinner to prep the background.. thinking it would be a quick paint job was a bit of a joke once I spotted my Helmar Decoupage Adhesive. The paint was long forgotten and instead I made a wash of Helmar Decoupage Adhesive and water. Then I set to work adding layers of paper napkins, paint, glimmer mist, patterned paper, more napkins, more paint, and MORE glimmer mist!
An hour later I had a very soggy mess but I felt very pleased with the result. After giving it a short blast with the heat gun, I then left it to dry over night.
The next day I played with some more Helmar Decoupage Adhesive. This time I used it to adhere some book pages to computer printed flower templates on card stock. The Helmar Glue Spreader made sure that I had no air bubbles and made the job twice as easy with the old crinkly book pages. The flowers were cut out one dried, layered, adhered together using Helmar 450 Quick Dryand then glimmer misted. Once the photo and other embellishments were added I adhered the flower to the canvas using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give them extra dimension. I also added some pearls to the centre of each flower using some Helmar Gemstone Adhesive.

The canvas travelled over to Port Lincoln in South Australia when I went over for Escape 2 Create. Now the hard job at the moment is the battle going on about where the canvas is ACTUALLY going to be hung!My niece has picked a spot in HER room and my sister has found a spot in THEIR family room. And that is if the canvas makes it out of my sister car after she has been taking around Port Lincoln to show everyone! LOL!

Was very pleased with the final effect and the texture on it was amazing. I know my job was made a lot easier with the help of some Helmar adhesives!
