I first started out with a basic drawing and coloring job and created the parts of the nursery rhyme I remembered most. I sat back and imagined how to make it pop for my project. If you know me, after seeing this next picture, you know exactly what I said next!
This picture needs serious color, texture and sparkle!! (Big laugh) So I made some confetti!! Yes you heard right, confetti! I painted the front and back of my watercolor paper with watercolors. After it was thoroughly dry I punched as many stars as I could get off that one page. More then enough for my art and some left over to add to my joy jar. What's a joy jar? It's a jar full of confetti I made or received in happy mail! Yep I save it and make more to gift away. It makes me happy! :::giggles::
Before I add any line work or gluetails (made up combination word of Glue and details, get it?) I needed to add a segment of the nursery rhyme, as it pertains to the picture.
I then added the stars and glitter as I used Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue to adhere them scattered all through the sky!!
Then I added some line work with my pencils and waterproof pen and I was so done!! While I didn't this time, you can hit the artwork with some Helmar Crystal Kote Fixative. It's seals the piece, protects and intensifies the colors. I'm placing this in a frame so I didn't. It's gonna be well protected behind glass. Check it out!
