This cute little "Gingerbread House"! Isn't it adorable? I had alot of fun putting together this little house by "Retired….Let's Do Lunch". It was super easy to assemble and it looks really impressive in your home as a Christmas decoration.
Helmar Premium Craft Glue was my adhesive of choice for this project, I used it to not only assemble my house but also to attach my paper and embellishments. I chose holiday papers by Fancy Pants (Christmas Magic Collection) and GCD Studios (Christmas Sleigh). The two worked together so great, the color palettes were a perfect match and the design patterns really compliment each other well. I also used the GCD Glitter Stickers.
I added embellishments from Elle's Studio (Vintage Flash Cards) and some fun crystal beaded ribbon that I had in my stash. I've been waiting to use that for just the right project and I think it makes really fun "icicles".
Notice those little trees? I cut those off the transparency sheet from GCD. Don't they look like they're just floating there? I used Helmar Liquid Scrapdots to attach them to the paper by applying it to the bottom of the trees and then holding them for a few seconds until the glue started to set. The result is free standing trees that don't have to be attached directly to the house. Isn't that cool?
I made that little "wreath" for the front door with Shrinky Dinks. I used a large snowflake stamp from myStampBOX (Let it Snow) and colored it in with glaze pens. I cut it out with a scalloped punch and then shrunk it down to get the effect of being a tiny door wreath. I made the woodgrain effect on the door by applying Clearsnap Smooch in molasses. I was so happy with how it turned out to really look like wood.
