Hi Crafters!
I'm back today with a recycled gift box idea, just in time for the holidays. When I saw these "Laughing Cow" cheese boxes, this idea popped right into my head! It's inexpensive to make and a great way to use up leftover craft items in your stash!
First – gather up your supplies, (see supply list below) choose your papers and embellishments you'd like to decorate your box with. I'm using, Crate Papers "Bundled up" paper collection to cover the top and bottom base of my box. Lightly trace around the base of the box with a pencil, and cut them out. Glue your 2 pieces to the top and bottom of your box with glue. I'm using Helmar's "Craft & Hobby PVA glue" it dries clear and works well with paper and cardboard surfaces.
Next, choose ribbon or lace trim and measure your piece around the rim of your box, both top and bottom edges. I used Helmar's Fabric glue to attach my ribbon to my box. This glue is both flexible and made especially for fabric and trim and holds firmly.
Now for the fun part of decorating the top of your box lid. I cut out a tag from one of the papers, added a foiled bow die-cut from Anna Griffin Minc embellishments, and chose a matching chipboard piece to add dimension. Then I glued it on top of my tag. I added some glitter on the top of my chipboard stocking piece. Glued a " Starburst" green gem from Queen & Co to the center of my bow.
You can then fill the inside of your box with candies, chocolate, cookies, anything else you may like.
To finish off my box, I added Nuvo Drops around the edge of the top lid of my box.
I hope you have fun and will make some of these gift boxes for all your special friends or family, to share this holiday season!
