Hey Everyone!
It's good to be back with my 2nd Helmar post, and this time I have a little project I did for my pre-schooler's end-of-the-year teacher gift. I tell you what, it was hard letting ALL my babies go to preschool but there is something even more bittersweet about the baby of the family heading off. She could not have been in better hands this year. Her teacher, Ms. Nadine, was the kindest, most caring and wonderful teacher and I knew our decision to put her in this school was a good one- she was right where she should be 🙂
I had this blank chipboard mini album from along with some leftover papers from a class I took at a scrapbooking store YEARS ago. The only thing that I discovered when I opened the book? SCORE- the inside pages had been done already, LOL! I must have started this for something and never finished it, so I reused and RECYCLED it for something to truly be remembered…
I wanted to do something special for her teacher, so I decorated the cover with some chipboard/fabric stickers with our school year and glued the MAYA ROAD felt flower onto the cover using Premium Craft Glue:
For the inside cover, I used more Premium Craft Glue to glue on the flowers/buttons. I found this poem, called "Why God Created Teachers". I apologize, I do not know who this poem was written by:
"WHY GOD MADE TEACHERS”
When God created teachers,
He gave us special friends
To help us understand His world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better person
With each discovery.
When God created teachers,
He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which to grow
So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
What's right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.
Why God created teachers,
In His wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
A better, wiser place…
