While March is here, much of the country is still blanketed in snow from winter storms. Take this opportunity to use some sparkly winter-themed supplies before spring arrives!
I enjoy embellishing plain gift bags because they require little fussing and they can be finished in just a few minutes. I wanted to whip this project out in less than 15 minutes, so I kept supplies to a minimum, and chose Helmar adhesives that required low or no drying time.

The Robin's Nest Patterned Paper and Dewdrops
Clearsnap Smooch (Moonlight), Smooch Spritz (Vanilla Shimmer), and glitter (silver)
Silver glitter ribbon (Prima)
Snowflake punch (Marvy Uchida)
Navy and white cardstock
1.5" chipboard frame
- I started with some glittery snowflake papers from our preferred partner The Robin's Nest. I cut the papers to fit the blue gift bag and attached them with Helmar Adhesive Runner.
- I then used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to attach a silver sparkly ribbon to cover the seam.
- A blue cardstock rectangle, and a patterned strip cut from The Robin's Nest paper were layered using the Adhesive Runner to add design interest.
- To color the plain chipboard frame, Clearsnap Smooch (Moonlight) was painted on, followed by an application of Clearsnap Smooch Spritz (Vanilla Shimmer). The frame was heat set to speed up dry time, and attached using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
- A coating of Helmar Acid Free Glue was applied to a punched cardstock snowflake to adhere Clearanap glitter (silver). *note* If attaching snowflake to a layout or decor project, I would apply Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots under each snowflake arm to add long term support. Since this project doesn't need to hold up long term, and I wanted to complete the bag quickly, I used Helmar Zapdots. They were perfect for this!
- For an extra frosty winter accent, I added three white Dewdrops(Silver Bells mix) using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
