Sock Puppet Fun

I want to share a quick and fun craft that you can easily do with your children! Sock puppets are so much fun, but assembly can be the most frustrating part. Hot glue dries quickly but can be difficult with small children that are eager to help. (I always get nervous someone is going to get burned – even with "low temp" hot glue.) Cold glue usually takes much too long to dry, and I know my kids can be impatient! Helmar to the rescue with their Fabric Glue! This glue dries so fast, we could play with the puppets immediately!

I gathered my items – a few new socks, some felt, scissors, google eyes, pom poms, some fuzzy hair scrunchies, and of course, my Helmar Fabric Glue. I positioned a sock on a model hand (Thanks, Tyler!) so that I would know where to glue my features. For one puppet, I used a yellow fuzzy hair scrunchy and glued it to the top as hair. The other puppet got some felt braids and bangs. Both puppets got google eyes and red felt tongues. One puppet got a pom pom nose. Super fast and easy – you can customize so many fashions of hair and face arrangements and get so many different looks!
