Hi this is Gayle with the Helmar USA Design team from Florida.
The latest Somerset Memories will be shipping this week and it is full of creative projects and ideas that have been shared by it's readers. Each new publication introduces me to some very talented artists that I have never seen before. It is exciting to see who is in each publication. In this issue my close friend Lucy Edson is a featured article, she also was also a finalist in our Helmar video contest this summer. She is amazingly talented in many areas.
I also have some projects to share with you that are in this magazine that I put together a couple of years ago.
One of the items if a project called the Bicycle Book. It was created as a flag book which is a very easy book to assemble. It is a really fun way to put together your own book when you are using lots of photos.
The photos in this book are of my brother teachinghis two children and my niece how to ride a bicyle one week end while they were at Flagler Beach. After the many trips running up and down the block with 3 small children I figured that event needed it's own book. So here you have the bicycle book created with Helmar450 and Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.
One of the scrapbook pages published is a baby photo of my brother standing at my mother's clothes line in our back yard. The back ground is hand painted with Luminarte paints and the leaf design is drawn on the paper. The page is assembled with Helmar 450 and Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.
The last page that I have in the magazine is Gone Too Soon. Which is exactly how I felt about these little Golden Finches. I had really never seen them up close and one summer they were massed in a couple of trees by my bed room window. I purchased feeding bags to entice them to say longer and they amused me for some time. I could actually be seen perched on my desk in my office waiting for them to arrive each morning. I would take the screen our of the window, slide the upper window down and sit and wait for them to fly to the tree. i took many pictures but each time I clicked the shutter of my camera they flew away. I would then have for start the wait game again and wait for them to land on the tree limbs. They were just beautiful as they flew around. It was a daily ritual for me to see how many would visit my trees. They were only there for a short time before the weather became too hot for them to stay in North Florida.
