February isn't over yet, so don't stop making those love-themed projects! While Valentine's day has passed, a whole year of anniversaries, weddings, and other special occasions has yet to come.
This card is quick and easy, yet packs a punch with it's layers of embellishment and texture. Velvet ribbon is adhered over pearl swirls and Liquid Scrap Dots are placed under the flowers and leaves to provide support for the delicate natural materials. A glittery butterfly hovers over the flowers thanks to more Liquid Scrap Dots, and adds a final touch of sparkle to the card.
Supplies:
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots
All other supplies from Prima Marketing Inc.
Instructions:
- Cut floral paper to 6 x 12 inches and fold to create card base.
- Add 6 in. velvet ribbon to bottom 1/4 of card using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, and pearl swirls diagonally to left side of card.
- Adhere red leaf to left side of card, overlapping ribbon, using 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. Apply Liquid Scrap Dots under ruffled portion of leaf to provide support. Adhere green flower in the same manner as leaf.
- Adhere butterfly using Liquid Scrap Dots to layer over flowers.
- Add flocked letter stickers to lower right side of card.
I love using the Liquid Scrap Dots for this kind of heavy layering. All my delicate embellishments are protected from being crushed and all the layers are level without having to hide a solid adhesive. The "WOW!" factor can be added to a project with a simple dot of glue!
