As a part of the Helmar USA Design Team, I am so very lucky to get to work with the hottest scrapbooking products available today – companies that have so generously allowed us as a team to create with abandon. I am by no means a technically saavy scrapper – – with some of these products, I am completely intimidated (but I very happily jump right in and start experimenting!)
I thought I would share a layout with you today, using hot new products, the fabulous array of Helmar products and a couple of my own little tricks that are for the beginner scrapbooker.
This layout was created using a lot of items from the June Kit at Treasured Scrapbooking, a place you can purchase all things Helmar and get a lot of ideas!
And the following products that I have never used before: Tattered Angels Glimmermist, – – wow! Where have I been – lol!? I applied the Key Lime Glimmermist in a thick back and forth coating to a Maya Road Chipboard Bird Shape (which I then applied to my layout using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots so it would “pop” off the page) and applied a few back and forth alternating sprays back and forth using the Key Lime and Turquoise Blue on the altered cardstock (I took a square cut piece of smooth white cardstock, ran it underwater, wadded it up, then smoothed it out for nice dimensional mat for the journaling – the Glimmermist gave it some great extra texture!) and also the journaling spot to give a tie-dye appearance.
And then there is yummy patterned paper from Jillibean Soup and Fancy Pants!
I have applied all of my patterned paper, photos, and journaling spots using the Helmar Acid Free Glue – – I love using a thick layer of the Acid Free Glue, which will make the paper buckle or wrinkly at first, but then flatten out – – it is gives a nice, secure feeling to a layout. Of course, all the buttons were applied using Helmar 450 Quick Dry since it you will never be worried about glue showing through the button holes – – it dries COMPLETELY clear!
I attached a Heidi Swapp Ghost Bird directly to my photo using Helmar Gemstone glue and also used 2 journaling tags on my photo using Zap Dots to push them up and off the photo.
