Altered Rolling Pin Kitchen Wall Hanging by Pinky
I don't know about you but I am ready for Spring weather, and some Spring creativity!
I was sitting in my kitchen last week thinking about sprucing things up and I stumbled
on my old rolling pin and thought…this would be FUN to play with!
I went into my craft room and grabbed my 6X6 pad of paper from Nikki Sivils
and a wooden heart, and went to town!
Now it took a little more than glue to hold it altogether, I did have to screw the ribbon in
for hanging it safely, but everything else has Helmar Adhesive on it!
I had such fun making this and I hope you enjoy it too and find some inspiration
from it, you never know what will come out of those kitchen drawers!
Supplies Used:
Nikki Sivils 6X6 Paper Pad (My Sweet Cherry Pie)
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive (on the paper and pearls)
Helmar Super Strength PVA Wood Glue (On the wood areas)
Helmar Liquid Scraps Dots (on the raised pieces for POP)
Creative Impressions Heart Felt
Clearsnaps SMOOCH Ink (on the edges of the paper ruffles)
Various ribbons and pearl strands,
Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces
Rolling Pin
Wooden Heart
First I covered the heart and rolling pin with paper, making sure to roll all the way around.
Then I created a paper ruffle using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
because it holds quickly enough for me to adhere all the folds, then I added ribbon and pearls to cover the seams.
I printed my saying on a piece of Kraft Paper, and places the KITCHEN onto the Nikki Sivils paper and cut them out so they would have an edge. I then painted the letters and attached them to the rolling pin with Helmar 450Quick Dry Adhesive.
When I went to place the ribbon for hanging the rolling pin, I drilled a small hole in preferred place, then I made a hole in my ribbon, then used a smal screw to attach and covered with Helmar Super Strength PVA Wood Glue for extra strength.
Yes this project took a while, but it was so fun! I would love to see if you create an altered rolling pin!
