Me? Throw away my bling??? No, not really, but I needed to find an alternative to bling on masculine layouts. I don't do masculine layouts often (since I have 2 girls), but I do know, I can't cover it in bling. It just doesn't work, lol! Plus my husband would never, ever let me hear the end of it. Ever!!!!
Lucky for me, Helmar Crackle Medium (Steps 1 and 2) make a great alternative option. It can create a lovely masculine feel to a layout. A little grungy, a little vintage. While still creating a unique texture and feel to the layout.
So creating this masculine layout became a whole lot easier, once I realised I could use Helmar Crackle Medium, in place of where I would usually use bling. Well, admittedly, I still used a little bling (brown rhinestones and Glimmermist). But at least I contained myself. (-:
In this close up, you can see where I have used the Helmar Crackle Medium on the chipboard frames. First, I coloured the frames with brown paint. Once it was completely dry, I added Step 1 of the Helmar Crackle Medium. I allowed it to dry about 20-30 minutes, then I added Step 2 of the Helmar Crackle Medium. And I absolutely love the end result.
