4th Day of Christmas – Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house…..

….mama was creating, quiet as a mouse.

Paper in hand, adhesive within reach…..

each little drop …onto her "Blingie thing" ……….

Ok, my friends…we all know the rest of the story. The poor mama was to have these really pretty and unique creations for the rest of her family and of course, here she is Christmas eve, putting the final touches on almost all of them.  If you are anything like me, this may ring true.  We all love to create and give personal gifts, but sometimes, the time just sneaks up on you.  There are ways to give personalized gifts that look like they took a long time, when really……shhh……they didn't.

I am hoping to be able to give you a little inspiration for a last minute gift idea that you can create yourself with some scraps of what you may have on your own desk at the moment. I didn't buy anything specific for this design, accept the little jungle bells and the gift certificate to place inside.  Otherwise…..go for it and be creative with your own supplies!

Holiday Stocking Gift Holder

Supplies:

Patterned Paper

Coordinating Cardstock

Bling

Pre-Gathered Ribbon

Feathers/Fur

Mini Jingle Bells and thin wire

Tim Holtz Edger

Sewing machine or hand sew

Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA Glue

Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Directions:

1)      Draw stocking design onto paper.

2)      Trace onto patterned paper, reverse pattern and trace for back side.

3)      Cut and glue random edges with Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA Glue. Dry.

4)      Stitch edging with sewing machine.

5)      Draw and trace 2 paper toppers for upper edging of stocking trim.

6)      Punch a single hole for Jingle bell wire with the Crop-o-dile.  Add jingle bells.

7)      Glue topper to stitched stocking with Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA Glue.

8)      Glue Feather/fur topper to cardstock topper with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. Dry. 

9)      Glue Pre-Gathered trim onto feather/fur trim with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. Dry. 

10)   Lightly Shread edges of stocking with edger and pull back.

11)   Add a light stream of Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA Glue to the edges of the stocking for glitter. Add Glitter. Shake off when dry.

12)  Create tag: Add a stream of Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA Glue around the entire outer edge, leaving a tiny edge for glitter. Add Bling 1^st. When dry add Glitter. Dry.

13)  Add feathers to rear of stocking and tuck toil into top of stocking.

14)  Add Bling to the toe f the stocking.

15)  Ta – Da! You are done!
