Today I get to do a product spotlight and to be honest it was hard to choose only one! Then I asked myself…before I learned that Helmar had other products, what was my go to glue?? I have to say it has and will always be Helmar's 450 Quick Dry. Yeah, you can buy other stuff…but after you use the 450…why would you want anything else outside of the Helmar family? I was first introduced to brand Helmar during a Ustream live stream, over five years ago. Some of the reasons I use Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Glue are:
Dries crystal clear.
When it dries the glue itself is flexible.
Adheres pretty darn fast!
Can be used on paper, plastic , metal and more!
Unlike that other clear glue in a tube.. I can use it in an enclosed room without rushing to open the windows! For today's projects I chose to simply make watercolor charms and jewelry.
The supplies needed were:
Various watercolors paints
Hahnemuehle Watercolor paper (Cezanne)
Fine glitter or stickles
Deco Art Acrylic writer
Deco Art Triple Thick Glaze
Scissors
earring fingings, jump rings
I first took the Hahnemuehle Cezanne watercolor paper and painted shapes all over it. Not one shape is like the last, for a very organic presentation. After the paint is dry, I used the acrylic writer to create a border/frame for each piece, before I cut it from the full sheet. The Hahnemuehle paper almost feels like fabric, it's thick and sturdy and I couldn't wait to use some of it with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Glue with it. You see Hahnemuhle is an awesome quality watercolor paper and guess what? Helmar is acid free, which means when it bonds with the awesomeness of Hahnemuehle papers, (the fabulous color captured by the paper) won't experience the worn or disintegrated effects any faster then naturally.
I layered many of the shapes and used the 450 quick dry to adhere the pieces together. Because the glue bonds fast and clear you will rarely see the areas where I may have placed too much glue. Because it is paper, I can still bend or shape it if need be.
I proceeded to add glitter and/or stickles to decorate the pieces and then the Deco Art Triple Thick glaze medium for ultra sheen.
I love the look of the concentric shapes of painted papers. Once its all dry I can then proceed to punch holes and add jump rings and bails to create earrings, and charms and pendants.
Thanks for hanging with me today and checking out my project! I hope you consider using quality, bonding that dries quickly and crystal clear, yanno features you always find in Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesives! Don't forget to check out our other products over on the Helmar Worldwide site.
