Hello everyone, it's Sarah Mullanix here, Helmar's October Guest Designer. I am so thrilled to be working with the wonderful Helmar products, and I would like to share with you a few projects that I created using Helmar's Premium Craft Glue. This glue, in my humble opinion, is the absolute best go to glue for any of your crafting needs that include: fabric, lace, trim, leather, vinyl, buttons, metal, and of course paper too. I decided to create a cute headband for my daughters and also a couple of rings using a few vintage buttons using the Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
The headband was very quick and easy to make even though it looks like it could have taken hours. The Helmar Premium Craft Glue bonded very quickly and made creating this headband a snap. First of all, I simply glued the lace to a plain plastic headband, easy enough. Secondly, I used a ribbon that was already pleated and simply ran a bead of glue along the ribbon's bottom edge and began wrapping the ribbon in a circle starting with what is the center of the flower and working my way out. In order for the flower to keep it's shape I sat a heavy book on top of the flower while it was drying. After 20 minutes of dry time, I glued the flowers to the lace on the headband using Helmar's Premium Craft Glue. I stitched a couple of loops through the flower and around the headband to hold while the flower dried. The next morning my daughter wore her new headband to school and has worn it many times since. Helmar's Premium Craft Glue has to be fantastic if both of my daughters can wear this headband to school more than 20 times and not a piece is out of place! Thank you Helmar!
I also created a couple rings with some vintage buttons that I recently found. These are incredibly easy to create as well. I purchased a few ring blanks and simply glued the buttons, layering them by size, on the ring blanks. I allowed them to dry overnight and they were perfect to wear by the next morning.
