Hello and thank you so much for stopping by the Helmar Blog today, I will be sharing how I made these lovely 'Fairytale' inspired embellishments with you.
What you will need:
Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive and Helmar Tacky Craft Glue, floral pictures or paper, glitter glue, backing cardstock, clear blisters or you can re-purpose any packaging blister plastic. You will also need pearls/beads, scissors and trims to your liking.
Firstly, cut the plastic blisters to the size you desire and then cut a cardstock backing piece to the same size, I used a glittered cardstock so that the underside would look pretty on the back.
Once this is done you can find an image/decorative paper and glue it to the backing piece of cardstock (wrong side up) using Helmar Tacky Craft Glue. I used an old book on orchids for my image as the images where very whimsical and gave a 'fairy' vibe.
The images in this book are quite small but I did manage to make them fit. Draw a pencil line to indicate where the 'blister' will be so that you can glue your pearls/beads inside.
Now using Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive decide where you would like your pearls/beads etc and apply a generous amount of glue inside the pencil line. Place your beads/pearls etc how you want them and then fill in any bare areas with your glitter glue, I used Stickles 'Mercury Glass'.
Allow plenty of time for this to dry.
While the glitter glue is drying, you can attach the braid/trim of your choice to the outside rim of your blister (blister dome facing up) using Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive.
Once your glitter glue has finished drying, place a few seed beads or sequins in the centre of your embellishment, do not glue them down.
Run a good bead of Helmar 450 Quickdry Adhesive to the under side of the blister and then carefully attach the blister to the embellishment base. Press firmly and do not move until the glue has dried thoroughly.
So there you have a lovely embellishment to use in upcoming projects, attach to a gift or the front of a card or even add a little stick to it to make a lovely style wand.
You can make these in any style you desire and in any shape. It was fun playing with these brighter fairytale style colours and I think I will make a journal or two to compliment them.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, take care xxx
