Did you know, with just one Helmar product, you can create amazing accordian flowers?
And which product might that be, I hear you ask? Why, the ever reliable and versatile, I can't live without it, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive!!! Come and join me. and I will show you how it's done…
Step 1: Cut a piece of paper 1.5" wide x 12" long. Thicker paper is preferable as it holds it shape better. The wider you cut your strip of paper, the larger your accordian flower will be. Also punch (or cut) two circles from scrap paper, about 3/4"-1" in diameter. You will need these for the base and front of the flower.
Step 2: You can leave your strip of paper as it is, or for further decoration, you can punch along one edge with a paper edge punch.
Step 3: Take your strip of paper and fold it up like a miniature fan. (Do you remember doing these as a child? Well, it's exactly the same, but only smaller). The smaller you do the folds, the tighter and more detailed your flower will be.
Step 4: Using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, place glue on each end of the fan strip, and glue the ends together in a circle. Hold toegther until dry and secure. You can stretch the fan out as you do this, it will not harm it.
Step 5: Take one of the punched circles. Add Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to it, and then place the centre of the fan over the circle, and press/fold down (in the centre).
Step 6: This will adhere the circle to the back of your flower, and help keep it stable. Hold securely until dry.

Step 7: Once it is dry, take your second circle (which I have cut down slightly smaller than its original size), and using your trusty Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, adhere the small circle to the centre of your accordian flower (on the front). Hold securely until dry. This will complete the flower, and hold it together securely, both at the front and back. I use a slightly smaller circle on the front so it does not show under any embellishments that I use to finish off the flower.
Step 8: Using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, add your choice of embellishments to the centre of your flower. I often use flowers, die cuts, brads, buttons, rhinestones and pearls. Ta-da! You have finished your first accordian flower. Now, off you go and practice (lol!!!), and I will see you all back here next week to learn how to create the Heart Shaped flowers.
